Creative and Live Industries

Introduction

This course deals with various live-based cultural experiences that include festivals, concerts, cultural institutions, opera and theatres, ballet / dance and events. The live industries produce and offer unique cultural and community experiences. This has a number of consequences for how organizations and projects operate and work in practice. These industries create live moments, and the audience must visit the event on the spot, as opposed to digital cultural consumption. The live industries are also affected by digitalization through streaming concerts and performances, through social media and digital marketing tools. The live industries are also important in other industries: Tourists travel to visit live events, and live actors are profiling and developing places.
