What is the system challenge? How can we meet the challenges at hand?
Join Us at 'The Future We Choose' Conference on September 20th!
Discover how businesses such as Norsk Gjenvinning, Gelato, Microsoft, Nordea are driving growth through innovative solutions to societal challenges. Hear from global academics, thought leaders, and businesses as we explore solutions for a more sustainable future.
This event is your chance to be part of positive change, learn from transformation catalysts, and understand the skills and strategies driving impactful transitions.
We look forward to hearing from thought leaders in the field of ecological economics, Geoeconomics, Finance & Development, Doughnut Economics and on impact research and reflections from innovators such as SHE Community, Smart Innovation Norway and Norwegian Mycelium. In the last plenary session we will tap into a political discussion and our own oil and energy minister will attend.
Political debate
Is the green transition sustainable?
Climate and nature policy are at odds. To cut emissions, we must build more renewable energy at the cost of vulnerable nature. The opposition to wind power and other climate measures shows what can go wrong when we proceed too quickly with solutions in isolation, without taking a more systemic outlook on how problems are solved.
The question is: How do we move forward with an energy policy that plays in harmony with the Montreal Protocol, safeguards indigenous people's rights and cuts emissions without placing too heavy a burden on society at large. In other words – How do we create a sustainable energy policy?
The BI Centre for Sustainability and Energy, Abelia, and Sustainability Hub Norway, are delighted to welcome you to be part of the collective effort to shape a more sustainable and resilient tomorrow.
