Norwegian-Ukrainian Business Forum 2016

BI visited by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko this week.

President Porosjenko visited BI along with Prime Minister Erna Solberg Tuesday October 18th to attend the business forum organized by the Norwegian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce.

Key topics for the conference were the economic and political situation in Ukraine and the development of trade cooperation between the countries.

Two years after the Maidan revolution, economic growth in Ukraine is improving, and the country now looks towards Europe. The number of new businesses are expanding rapidly and Ukraine is on its way to establishing itself as one of Europe's leading outsourcing destinations, with a growing Start-up environment. Reformation in the energy sector and the economic integration with Europe opens up new opportunities for Norwegian industry.

The Business Forum was held in conjunction with the Ukrainian President's official visit to Norway. The purpose of the visit was to consolidate and further develop bilateral relations between Ukraine and Norway emphasizing on political talks, business cooperation and Norwegian support for Ukraine's reform efforts.

On the program was Prime Minister Erna Solberg, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, chief editor of the newspaper Kyiv Post, Brian Bonner, Associate Professor at BI, Caroline Dale Ditlev-Simonsen, Vice President of EVRY, Laxmi Akkaraju, Senior Researcher at NUPI, Roman Vakulchuk, and many more.
