Line Lervik-Olsen is new head of marketing department

Lervik-Olsen comes from a Professor position at the Department of Marketing and will start in her new job on August 1, 2018. In her new role she will be leading academics who are in the international top class in their field.

"As a new provost of research and academic resources, I am pleased that Lervik-Olsen is joining the team that will assert ourselves even stronger on the national and international research arena. The Department of Marketing has advanced itself for quite some time now, with world class researchers and good publishing results. Lervik-Olsen has long and solid experience that will be beneficial to furthering this development," says Hilde Bjørnland, forthcoming provost of research and academic resources.

Lervik-Olsen has been employed by BI Norwegian Business School since 2003. Lervik-Olsen has taught, supervised and been responsible for courses at the bachelor's and master's level as well as supervised doctoral students.

Her research interests include service and innovation, and she has published in several top journals. She has had several key positions and roles at the department and in other academic environments.

"I really look forward to get started. From having worked at the department for a long time, I know both colleagues and BI well. I am proud to be part of this academic environment and happy to be able to use my experience and competence to further build on a solid foundation," says new head of department Lervik-Olsen.

Lervik-Olsen holds a master's degree in International Hotel and Tourism Management from the University of Stavanger and Florida International University and a PhD in Marketing from the BI Norwegian Business School. While working on her doctorate she spent part of the time at the University of Michigan.
