Staff Functions

Staff functions are sub-units that contributes to the organisation's daily operation.

A staff function is a unit that contributes to the daily operations on campus.

These units often work closely with the management to reach their goals and vision. Their function is furthermore to contribute to all units on campus.

BISO Media

BISO Media is actively produces film and photo content to all of BISO's functions and events. They typically deliver promotional teasers to the academic days, recap-movies from social events and can often be seen taking photos of new board members.

We have a fantastic variety in the projects we get the opportunity to produce. Our headliner projects during a school year are projects like Fadderullan, Karrieredagene, INSPIRE and Bergensbaneløpet. We are made up of everything from seasoned media junkies, to students who’ve newly become familiar with who we are and what we do. With us you’ll receive valuable and relevant experience within project management, media production, develop your team skills, and of course acquire a better know-how when it comes to photography and filmmaking. We’re always there when something’s going in, so everyone can catch a glimpse of the magic that happens within the organisation.

Impact

Impact works on putting sustainability on the agenda of both BI, businesses in today’s job market and most importantly; the students!

Impact wishes to create an arena in the organization that engages, inspires and enables students and young business leaders to develop the necessary skills to create a sustainable and safe future. The work of Impact consists of contribution to new initiatives and expertise internally. By doing this Impact acts as a support function for other units in their effort to increase focus on sustainable development. In addition, Impact will take part in The GO Explorer Day. A conference with a focus on turning climate risks into climate opportunities, showcasing innovative solutions with business potential.

BISO Charity

SBIO Charity is the social conscience of SBIO! We work year-round with events to raise money for our charity project. Our goal is to create different events during the school year to include the students at BI in the charity work that we do.

During the year you can see us around school selling waffles, christmas candy, valentine roses and easter eggs! We also have events like Cageball tournaments and Charity Run that you and your friend are welcome to join. Currently we have a collaboration with Unicef, and won the Charity Run against NHH in 2019 raising xxx NOK.

Næringslivsutvalget

Næringslivsutvalget are the link between the students at BI and the business sector. Through events such as company presentations and Female Future Days we facilitate a greater interaction between the students and their potential employers.

Our vision is to make the distance from academia to employment as short as possible for the students at BI. Today we are a group of 57 active members, in addition to a growing alumni network. Everything we do is of high professional degree, but there is no doubt that we are a very social group of people.

Markedsavdelingen

Markedsavdelingen (Marketing Department) enriches the student life at BI Business School through obtaining student benefits and discounts.

Markedsavdelingen consists of five teams:

  1. An executive team who are responsible for all subgroups, the follow-up, daily operation and further development of our unit.
  2. A social group who are responsible for the academic and social activities within the unit. This involves internal development of professional skills and social cohesion internally.
  3. A communication group who manages the communication channels by creating and spreading promotional material for both Markedsavdelingen and our partners.
  4. A market group who are responsible for raising cooperation, sponsorship and discounts to students. The market group sells marketing to students on campus on behalf of the business community.
  5. A profiling group who is responsible for cooperation between Access and Daylight and BISO. This means that BISO will get better prices, orders and deliveries for promotional material. Our Profiling manager is responsible for BISO's commercial stand areas.

Bar Society

Bar Society is a social and including society which was established in 2016. Our society consists of 80 volunteers that staff KROA as either bartenders or DJ’s.

We consist of students from all the different programs - bachelor, master and exchange students. With weekly events, we want to offer the students at BI a place to socialize after classes and fun experience after school. We arrange Quiz-nights, stand-up, Student Thursdays, subject evenings and much more! If you are interested in bartending, mixing drinks or want to try out as a DJ this is the society for you. No prior knowledge is needed as we will course and train our newest members.
