Fadderullan is the name of the Buddy Weeks at BI. The purpose of Fadderullan is to create a big event for all new student to be well received and to get a wonderful start to their student life here at BI in Oslo.
Student life is a lot more than lectures and auditoriums. It can be the best, most challenging, stressful, and rewarding period of your life. You will meet new people, find new interests, and develop yourself both socially and academically.
Life as a student can be both exciting and exhausting. It might seem overwhelming at first, and there is a lot of information to take in.
We understand that it can be difficult to imagine what student life in Norway might look like. To help you out, we've created this guide based on experiences from our current international students.

The Student Union at BI - campus Oslo (SBIO)
There are many events and opportunities available through the Student Union at BI Norwegian Business School (SBIO).
Being an active students at BI means getting involved in the student union. As an active student, you will meet people outside your class and regular social group. You can build a large network of friends and contacts, and use your new knowledge in practical situations.
You will also get more opportunities to engage with potential employers. In short: By being an active member of the student union, you will enrich your student life!

International Students Association
InSA arranges various social activities for BI students. Join their excursions, movie nights, parties, sightseeing in Oslo and other events to get to know your fellow students.
The on-campus student pub is an important part of the social life at BI. Prices are student-friendly, and there are regular events such as standup comedy, quizzes, mini concerts, and live soccer matches on TV.
Arranged twice a year, this event is a great way to learn more about the different societies, academic associations, projects and staff functions in the Student Union on campus. This is your chance to get involved!
BI's revue is an annual performance by volunteer students. If you enjoy being on stage, or helping out with a big production, you will love being part of this hilarious and often irreverent event!
Student charity drive
Throughout the year, SBIO's charity organisation collects money for a charity that builds school for impoverished children. The main charity drive is a campus-wide event, where you can help collect money and participate in fundraising sports competitions.
This annual relay race is an epic, ongoing battle between BI Norwegian Business School and the Norwegian School of Economics, located in Bergen. The race spans more than 100 relays and takes students across the mountains from Oslo to Bergen.
The SBIO Ball
An annual formal ball for members of the student union. Expect a spectacular show, an exclusive dinner, drinks, speeches and awards.
Both the Student Union and units at BI arrange several academic events throughout the year.
Inspire is one of Norway's largest academic events, arranged by students and for students. This three-day event meant to inspire and motivate students with talks from leading businessmen and women.
BI Career Fair
BI Career Fair is an event spanning several days, in which a range of companies are invited to BI to meet students - and potential employees. Our career guidance teams will also hold courses and presentations during the event to help you find your path.
Seminars and Presentations
Throught the year, BI hosts exciting seminars focused on what it takes to succeed in different positions. You will hear about the career experiences of BI alumni, and attend presentations from leading companies.
BI Startup is a meeting place for student startups. It's both a coworking space and a larger initiative to get our students involved with the Oslo startup scene.
In order to give international students at BI an opportunity to learn Norwegian and hence get a better grasp of Norwegian culture, BI offers Norwegian language courses on different levels to our international students.

In order to succeed in your studies, you need certain things. SiO and BI offers a wide range of health and councelling services.
The Athletica Nydalen gym is located right in our campus building. This gym, operated by SiO, has a wide range of facilities and services, including personal train and group sessions.
At our on-campus medical facilities, you can get an appointment with a general practitioner through SiO.
Public Health Nurse
Our nurses can help answer any questions you have about physical or mental health - you can ask them anything. This option is usually faster and more affordable than a doctor.
If you need someone to talk to, you can always contact SiO's mental health professionals. Located off-campus, these specialists can help you with anything related to mental health.
Our on-campus counselling service can help you deal with the challenges of adapting to a new life. Simply having someone to talk to can often help.
All students under 40 years of age can use SiO's dentist service at nearby Blindern for affordable prices.
When life feels too large - or too little, our university chaplain is available for anyone to talk to, regardless of religion or beliefs.
