Public Sector Communication and new forms of Influence
The fourth #NORA lecture discusses the current environment where communication in today’s society and organizations takes place. The logic of how public sector organizations should communicate is changing, and looking into how communicators balance their organizations through intangible assets.
The talk also covers the new media measurement landscape of communication, and discusses the differences in expectations when it comes to citizens and organizations.
LECTURE 4 SPEAKERS
Kati Kalliomäki is a well-established communications professional who works for the Finnish Tax Administration as communications director. Her team recently was handed the most important communications award in the country by ProCom – The Finnish Association of Communication Professionals. Kati is passionate about clarity, transparency, courage and interaction in public service communication.
Vilma Luoma-aho (PhD) is Professor of Corporate Communication and Vice Dean of Research at Jyväskylä University, School of Business and Economics. Her research focuses on intangible assets, and she currently leads an Academy of Finland -funded research project on young people and social media. Her newest edited book, The Handbook of Public Sector Communication (Wiley) is out in 2020.
